The Institute for Antimicrobial Resistance Research and Education is a collaboration of four universities in Nebraska and Iowa (Univ. Nebraska-Omaha, and Univ Nebraska-Lincoln, Iowa State Univ. and Univ. of Iowa) along with Mayo Clinic, Minnesota.) along with Minnesota’s Mayo Clinic. The team of scientists and physicians will address the problem medicine-resistant bacteria (superbugs) like the anaerobes Fusobacteria and Clostridium Difficle. These treacherous strains are commonly found in the oral cavity with periodontal disease.
The United states government now promotes such research on the utility of antibiotics and methods to control and eliminate highly resistant bacteria. For several decades the Calcium Therapy Institute has developed and utilized clinical protocols and materials that reveal, control and eliminate anaerobia bacteria that routinely colonize in the oral cavity with periodontal disease.
