Dr. Manhart: I have spent 2 years trying to restore my dental health, mostly naturally, but with dentist visits. My situation has greatly improved but not to the standard I am satisfied with. They at one time wanted to take out all my teeth. I never went back, and embarked on a quest to restore my situation,
Now I have all but 4 teeth (molars in the back mostly that were beyond help, but the others and my gums show excellent improvement to the point my dentist asked me how in the world the condition of my mouth is so much improved. My main issue is continued improvement of my oral health and trying to reverse my gum recession that happened when my gums were infected and I had severe periodontal disease. I did have my pockets measured and I went from 9 to 4 and 3s and 2s in most places.
I agree with your ideas about dentists being too invasive and only have anything done if its absolutely necessary. Now, I have come to you to help me improve the health and appearance of my mouth ever further, My main concern is the gaps at the neck of my teeth exposed by gum recession. Gums by all account are pink and healthy. ~ Ross in NC
