QUESTION: Hello Dr. Manhart, I just discovered your calcium dental and skin care information and am interested in these kinds of basic things to keep you healthy. One question I have is in regard to calcium and atherosclerosis. My friend had a heart attack, and they had to drill calcium deposits out of his arteries. Prior to this he had osteoporosis and was prescribed calcium for years. Now we’ve read that just calcium alone isn’t so great – that you need vitamin K2, magnesium, Vitamin D, E and more so that the calcium stays in your bones and doesn’t go to your arteries. I would hope that your calcium preparations for teeth and skin would not make it to your arteries?? Do you have any information on that aspect? ~ Thank you and best regards, Juli B.
ANSWER: We have had no untoward response to our calcium materials or the methodology, especially from any one with osteoporosis or cardiovascular problems. In fact, such conditions seem to improve with the therapy. Yes, taking large doses of oral calcium thru the stomach is not so great. That is not what we are doing. This is a gentle timed-release treatment.
