A lady called from MD yesterday. She was so mad at her dentists we had to laugh about it. Then she explained to me why flossing is damaging her mouth. It spreads infection all over the mouth, hurts the gums and keeps loosening the contacts between the teeth. She is a teacher, I think. Smart, with commonsense.
Using toothpicks are good, especially the plastic kind that you can reuse. Just do not keep it in the mouth and chew on it. If floss has to be used on rare occasion, do it carefully only where it is needed.
