Question: Dear Dr. Manhart – I came across your website when I was researching products to help my friend… She tried your formula on an abscess with amazing results. She told me I should write you to inquire if you think you could help me in any way. My teeth are becoming alarmingly transparent. It started from the bottom and has started to work its way up my front and bottom teeth. I have had problems with my teeth becoming soft and “decalcifying” in the past. They aren’t soft at the moment, but I believe my dentist told me that the dentin is disappearing, which is what is causing the transparency. Forgive me if I have the technical terms mixed up. They also seem to be growing progressively yellower. If I use whitening toothpaste of any brand, they turn almost dayglow orange! It must be something in my saliva that reacts strangely to it.
Do you think any of your products can help me? I am a 37 yr old female with some autoimmune problems. I’m growing quite concerned with my see-through teeth. Thank you so much for your time. ~ DS in NY
Answer: Glad to hear your friend got those results. This rapid change in your mouth may be from long ago and all at once took off. Transparent may not be the right word. It may be the bleaching – it does leach the calcium out of the teeth. Stop all such nonsense.
It likely is something in the saliva…excessive bacteria, maybe from infection of the bone between the upper front central teeth #8+9. Don’t panic. Please read the our research on diastema about spacing of those teeth. Tell your dentist, at no cost to you, and now, to send or give you an x-ray to send – of that area, a single small x-ray is best, or panoramic…either taken within the last few years.
At 37 you may have caught this very early. It may be complex, but is rather easy to resolve, most by you at home with calcium materials. We’ll send a Calcium Kit to start treating it and if there is no infection, you lose nothing and will help figure out what is really causing all this. For now, do nothing radical, especially no surgery, nothing for your mouth but water and a toothbrush. No flossing. Then use the calcium materials when you get them.
