QUESTION: Hello, I just found your site while I was looking for help in regards to a periodontal abscess that formed recently. I was diagnosed 2 months ago with periodonitis, and the procedures that the dentist and perio surgeon recommended were frightening to say the least.
I began researching natural treatments and came to the conclusion that having a high level of calcium , magnesium, and phosphorous in the saliva would be beneficial. I started using a tooth powder mix instead of toothpaste, rinsing with salt water, oral irrigation alternating salt water and hydrogen peroxide (diluted), and nightly gum packs filled with calcium, turmeric, and magnesium.
The results I have seen so far have been tremendous. My teeth are whiter and firmer, and the brown decay spots are disappearing, but recently after eating a bowl of cereal, a spot started to swell on my gum between the upper left canine and the bicuspid? behind it. It was quite painful, so I used the waterpick with some H2O2 and it formed a small head which then burst. It has been several days, and there is no pain, but it is still draining and the
skin on the exterior of my gum is loose. It will swell back up when I use the irrigator, almost like I am filling up a balloon.
I am 99% sure that it isn’t a tooth root abscess. because it is located almost at the tip of the gum between the teeth. I think it is a periodontal (gum) abscess. Will your regimen treat this condition? Or am I going to have to deal with the local fear mongering dentist again? I apologize for my long-winded question, and I hope to hear from you soon. Thanks. ~ RM in AZ
ANSWER: RM – Thanks for looking up the site. What was used to decide you have perio disease? Please NEVER have anyone measure your gum pockets. It spreads infect all over and tells us nothing biological. X-rays are also very opinionated for this too. Right, never have gum surgery or anything like it. This does nothing to solve things.
We’ll send a homecare kit and you stop using all the other stuff. Powdered cleansers, salt, Hyd. Peroxide, turmeric acid, waterpick and Mg are over kill, especially for the gums. What works will be simplicity. Send something for
the kit if you like. Yes, I think it is a periodontal (gum) abscess too, and will be harder to resolve, especially with harsh, radical things. Use the Calcium Chips of the kit a few times a week in that pocket, gently, tiniest ones you can use, and let us know how things go.
Never deal with fear mongering dentists, or anyone, again? Tell them there are millions of normal humans at your fingertips. Just made an appointment with a fellow to come in from Scottsdale. Ask any questions you like.
