CALCIUM in ROOT CANALS:
When calcium cements are used in ROOT CANAL THERAPY the results are excellent, according to eminent researchers in Brazil, Drs. Duarte, Demarchi, et al. The team’s findings just reported in the journal, Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology are also referenced by on one of the world’s foremost researchers in calcium materials over the last 30 years, Drs. R. Holland and V. Souza of Brazil. The results would seem to confirm the Calcium Method of Endodontic Sealing published in the same journal in 1982 by Calcium Therapy Institute dentist Dr. Mark Manhart. Calcium Therapy Institute dentists have used these calcium materials for root canals and periodontal therapies — now for nearly four decades.
CALCIUM inhibits OSTEOCLASTS:
In the same journal similar calcium materials have shown to inhibit the activity of osteoclasts which break down bone tissue (Drs. J Jiang, J.Zuo, et al). This results in better osteoBlastic active for building bone cells, sealing off root canals and periodontal recovery.
CALCIUM Method of REPLANTATION:
Also, Florida studies by Drs.Y. Pohl, A. Filippi, et al, OS,OM,OP, on replantation of teeth using calcium materials echo the publication of Dr. Manhart’s case reports in 1983 of the Calcium Method of Replantation in the General Dentistry Journal.
BLOOD SERUM CALCIUM:
Studies have shown that just ONE calcium treatment raises the blood serum calcium level significantly and sustains a slight rise above the initial baseline for as long as a week with no apparent untoward reactions.
CALCIUM COMPOUNDS:
We now know exactly which calcium compounds change the pH of the saliva for extended periods of days, and which for only hours. This is invaluable information for utilizing them in dentistry.
OSTEOPOROSIS and the "PERIODONTAL WINDOW:"
It is clear that periodontal disease is much like "Osteoporosis of the Mouth" and that the periodontium is a "window" into the body’s biological systems. These connections make it likely that a preventive therapy for osteoporosis can be designed utilizing calcium materials and the periodontal window to replenish calcium of the skeletal system.
